Hagerbach test gallery

Hagerbach Test Gallery looks back on 50 years of successful underground space development and research. The unique, 5.5 km long infrastructure network with its various rock formations, surfaces, galleries, tunnels and installations is optimal to test, analyse, train and demonstrate under full-scale conditions. It is also the perfect environment to innovate underground applications and technologies and to get inspired for the future.

The International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association’s Committee on Underground Space (ITACUS) has been advocating the use of urban underground space for over a decade. The urban underground provides solutions for helping cities achieve manifold challenges, such as against climate change, natural disasters and urban density.
